I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

Vision
To use as simple a phrase as possible, the vision of our church is “the gospel changes everything.”  We are serious about the gospel, about transformation and about everything (not just about church; and especially not just about our church).  We are a church in Fremont, for Fremont and seek to bless Fremont and the Bay Area in every way it needs to be blessed.  Although we want Grace Church Fremont to be a healthy church, it is part of our larger vision, God’s vision:  to change the world in the way of Jesus.

History
Grace Church Fremont was established in 2008 as a merger between Bethel Baptist Church and Cornerstone Christian Center.

Bethel Baptist Church began in 1956 as a home Bible study under the leadership of Pastor Joe Sherman. In 1957 Rev. John Doolittle became the pastor and remained until 1966, when Pastor Edsel Roberts became pastor of the church. In 1972, the church began to look for a new facility because of the growth of the church. Our current location on Fremont Blvd. was then purchased and the church facility was built from the ground up under Pastor Roberts’ direction with help from church volunteers. Pastor Roberts remained with the church until his retirement in 1986, when Rev. William Kintner became the new pastor of the church. Pastor Bill has been with the church up until the merger and continues to serve with us as Senior Pastor today.

Cornerstone Christian Center was planted in the Ardenwood area of Fremont in 1996. Services were held at Forest Park Elementary School. Our Mandarin congregation was added to the church in 2002 and Pastor Paul Chang later became the Senior Pastor of the church as well. After moving out of Forest Park, Cornerstone held worship services at Newark Community Center. Later, the church renovated a location in Balentine Plaza in Newark for worship services and a 24/7 location. Promiseland children’s ministry and The Rock! youth group have been constant ministries through all of our changes and continue to be a part of GCF today.

Partnership
Please contact us if you’d like to become a church partner (member) of GCF.  The process consists of an interview, three partnership classes and covenanting with us in the mission and vision of our church.
