Helicon love sports such as baseball, football and basketball, but is especially passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (a form of grappling like wrestling and judo), which he has been training for the past 3 years and currently hold a blue belt in the art. He loves to read, play board games of strategy such as chess, and is pretty up to date about games and gadgets. He has a passion for cars, motorcycles, and racing as well.

For at least the next 3 years while attending Seminary, Helicon will be assisting Betsy Wang with Grace Church Fremont's "The Rock" and serving the rest of the body of Christ as well.

Jenny Lau, Missional Intern
Jenny was raised in Southern California and received her degree at UCLA. After college, she went on staff with the Navigators and ministered for several years on college campuses while working as an elementary school teacher. Her life has strongly been influenced by discipleship and overseas missions. In her spare time, Jenny enjoys watching UCLA sports (Go Bruins!), baking cupcakes, traveling, and spending time with friends.

Jenny believes that the gospel touches and changes every aspect of people’s lives- their work, school, relationships, and values. She is continually challenged in her understanding of what God’s kingdom can look like when people live out of personally knowing God's love and acceptance for them.

Alex Schweng, Executive Minister

Alex grew up in the East Bay and is a graduate of UCLA and Talbot School of Theology. He’s been married to Amy, his high school sweetheart, since 1997. They have two daughters, Layla and Elise, who are a constant source of joy, surprise and wonder to their lives.

Alex was on staff with the Navigators at UCLA, is a Perspectives Coordinator and has been with our church since 2004. He enjoys reading, sports, surfing, and Mondays with his family. His ministry passion is seeing the gospel of God’s grace and unconditional love in Jesus Christ change our lives and our world.
